Background & Medical Training |
I was born and raised in sunny Southern California. The picture above this page is Point Vicente Lighthouse in Palos Verdes overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Catalina island where I have fond memories growing up.
In 1998, I moved to Evanston, IL where I attended Northwestern University for college, majoring in Biology and then attended Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine in downtown Chicago, receiving my MD degree in 2005. I spent the next 7 years in Philadelphia at Drexel University College of Medicine (Hahnemann University Hospital) for General Surgery Residency. This included an additional 2 years working in clinical and basic science research in trauma wound healing, and advanced minimally invasive surgery including single incision surgery. I joined the faculty at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Manhattan, New York in 2012 as a general surgeon and Fellow for specialty training in Minimally Invasive Laparoscopic, Endocrine, and Bariatric surgery. In 2013, I relocated to Manchester, NH working at Catholic Medical Center with the Surgical Care Group. I currently perform all general surgeries, trauma surgery, and specialize in bariatric weight loss surgery, with an emphasis in advanced minimally invasive, laparoscopic and robotic surgery. I have particular interests in hernia, gallbladder, and weight loss surgery, and am the Section Chief of General and Bariatric Surgery and the Surgical Director of our New England Weight Management Institute providing treatment for both medical and surgical weight loss. I am an active member of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), and the American Hernia Society (AHS). In addition, I am currently an active instructor for Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), an instructor for the General Surgery Oral Board examination, and a journal reviewer for the Surgery for Obesity and Related Diseases (SOARD): the official journal of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). I've been fortunate to have been voted a New Hampshire Top Doctor every year since 2018. |
Personal
Living a healthy and balanced life is essential to me. Coupled with my love of the outdoors, New Hampshire has been a fitting home for my family and I. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and kids hiking the White mountains, biking, and kayaking and paddleboarding the numerous rivers and lakes in our state. I am an avid basketball and tennis fan, and play in my town's basketball league every year. My other personal hobbies are woodworking, photography, and cooking.
